Across the United States, we lose 30% to 50% of new teachers in the first three to five years. The cost of teacher attrition in Arizona is $88 million annually; the cost in student performance is immeasurable. The Master Teacher program is the Center’s effort to retain the newest members of the profession. The Arizona K12 Center works with partnering school districts to identify and train Master Teachers, who in turn, support teachers in their first three years of teaching.
