How to create impactful learning scenarios with Dr. Douglas Fisher.
Fifteen years of research. Millions of students studied. That’s the scope of John Hattie’s, Ph.D., research on instructional routines impacting student learning.
In Visible Learning for Literacy, Hattie, Nancy Frey, and Doug Fisher, Ph.D., explore how to create change in students’ lives. The book comes to professional development life at the Feb. 16 event offered by the Arizona K12 Center.
Join Fisher, a San Diego State University professor of language and literacy education, as he helps educators transform into students, and students into their own educators. In the seven-hour session, participants will:
- learn when to use surface-level learning strategies and when to move into deeper learning strategies.
- understand how to create impactful learning that will support transferring “learning from class to class, grade to grade, and year to year.”
- learn how to help students make statistically significant learning gains.
