Welcome to the Master Teacher Online Portfolio. As educators well know, the greatest single influence on student performance is teacher quality. And the greatest single influence on teacher quality is lifelong learning in professional learning communities. In this application process you will be asked. In this application process, you will be asked to provide evidence of your ability to demonstrate excellence in your teaching practice.  Through strategic planning, lesson design and implementation, lesson and data analysis and reflection on your overall teaching practice, you will engage in more than just an application process.  You will engage in job embedded professional development that will enhance your work as a reflective and influential teacher that greatly impacts student achievement in Arizona schools.

Any certified teacher may apply to recognized as a Master Teacher.Master Teachers are awarded certificates by the State Board of Education and the Governor's office and have the opportunity to participate in a variety of professional development and teacher leadership opportunities through out the year. Master Teachers also serve as the core of the Master Teacher Mentor Program in selected districts throughout the state.
