Everyone as a story.  We are all made up of our experiences; deeply personal and professional.  Sharing those stories creates the human connection that is so important to our very survival.  My story is about the journey to the very place I find myself in today- seeking to provide and inspire leadership and hope in our profession.  That journey really began with my family, my values, my role models- from growing up in the mid-west with my brothers and sisters, watching my parents struggle to make sure we could all go to college, to building my own life and family and profession on the foundation those experiences built.  My father always told me I could be anything I wanted to be- and that I had a responsibility to take action to shape my own future.  That's how I taught my students, how I tried to work with my colleagues, what I always told my own children.  We each have something to contribute to the whole. Our collective wisdom will create the solutions for the future.  There is HOPE  in the action we take to lead our profession!
