How can you give your students the best chance of success out there if you don’t give yourself the opportunity to experience the Arizona workplace with your own eyes. Bridging that gap between educators and the business world is the Arizona K12 Center’s Lesson2Life program.
Through Lesson2Life, you’ll observe first hand how the integration of the Arizona Workplace Skills Standards impacts job performance in actual work environments. In just a few experience-rich days, you’ll gain a unique behind the scenes perspective of various industries. You will also gain insights on how to focus your instruction while creating learning opportunities to best prepare your students for a global economy that continues to evolve. No matter where you live in Arizona, Lesson2Life will emphasize businesses and industries relevant to your community. Hospitality, high tech, finance, non-profit and agriculture are just some of the sectors you may explore.
Educators and employers in Arizona share the same goal, to prepare today’s students as tomorrow’s workforce. Yet we work in separate environments and seldom have the opportunity to share our vision. Lesson2Life changes that. Face to face you have real dialogue in which you not only hear about the needs of business, but also share your strategies and challenges to meet those needs. Lesson2Life reinforces the importance of workplace skills you already teach. And it will inspire you with new ways to infuse your teaching with real world relevance. It’s time for you to get down to business.
APS provides the primary funding and is a valuable supporter of this program.
