Join teacher leaders from across the state who are working together to ensure their schools are healthy and thriving environments that are fruitful for students, educators, and the community.

Cornelius Minor, a Brooklyn-based educator, will join us on day one, as the general session facilitator. Minor works with teachers, school leaders, and authorities of community-based organizations to support equitable literacy reform in cities (and sometimes villages) across the globe. As a staff developer with the Teachers College Reading and Writing Project at Columbia University, he draws not only on his years teaching middle school in the Bronx and Brooklyn, but also on time spent skateboarding, shooting hoops, and working with young people to better understand the connection between relationships and their individual academic success.

Minor will be joined by LeeAnn Lindsey of Edvolve, our talented Arizona’s TeacherSolutions Team, the Arizona K12 Center staff, six amazing spotlighted teacher leaders, and other well-known leaders in our field to facilitate this rich learning experience with the mission to empower you to lead for equity in your spaces. We know teacher leadership matters. Secure your spot today! Register now for the Fourteenth Annual Teacher Leadership Institute: Developing School Communities that Thrive.

Participants will:

  •  Learn how to ensure equitable conditions lead to increased student and teacher agency, accelerated outcomes, and safe communities where relationships are at the heart of the work.
  • Accelerate changes in their school that lead to heightened equitable conditions for students and the school community.
  • Develop an understanding of their role and action steps to take as a leader, which will result in an increase in teacher and learner agency.
  • Understand the role and impact of a focus on relationships in school communities.
  • Develop an understanding of how to support students’ and colleagues’ social and emotional well-being, resulting in a healthy and thriving school community.
  • Create a vision for inspiring future action.
