Improving Language Learners Academic Achievement
Arizona faces a rapidly growing population of students who need to learn English in addition to the standard curriculum. This poses a major challenge to educators in all subject areas. In response to this, the Arizona K-12 Center administers the Improving Language Learners Academic Achievement through Structured English Immersion Grant. This includes providing teachers with the tools and strategies they need to make their content as comprehensible as possible, while students become proficient in English. The result is a classroom where more students can excel at a faster rate.
