I'm pleased welcome you to the Arizona K-12 Center's blog! What exactly is a blog? It is short for weblog and here's a definition for you:
A blog is an easy-to-update website that is
organized in reverse chronological order.
As a reader, you don't really care that it's easy for us to update the site. But what easy posting means is that we get to focus on what we write for the blog, not the process of getting it online. As a reader you will like that the newer posts are listed first so you don't have to hunt for what's new.
There are many kinds of blogs on the Internet. Sometimes blogs are described as online journals, but they are not limited to being a diary. I thought I'd list a few blogs so that you'd get the idea:
Blogs might be updated several times a week or maybe just once a month. You can look forward to Arizona K-12 Center's blog being updated at least once a week. The Technology section of the blog will bring you practical uses for technology in education and is written with busy classroom teachers in mind.
Blogs aren't a one-way communication tool. As a reader you can add a comment to any post. In fact, I'd love for you to leave a comment with the address of your blog or of a favorite blog of yours. To leave a comment, click the title of this post and then scroll to the bottom of the page where you'll find the Add Comment form.
